CSR MANAGEMENT IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE EFQM EXCELLENCE MODEL

At DB Schenker Logistics socially responsible business is a balance between economic and social efficiency and ecology. We focus on strategic areas of CSR regarding the specific nature of our operations, the supply chain and values.
Dialogur with local communities, cooperation with academic centers, focusing on the development and practivity of the employees, and employee volunteering program are just a few examples of diverse CSR operations at DB Schenker Logistics.
As the logistics operator, we try to minimize negative impact on the environment, e.g. by promoting rail solutions. Of the utmost importance is also the implementation of the LEAN culture that focuses on lean processes and elimination of waste.

We present our approach to the responsible business and results in the form of a social report verified by the external audit company, PwC.

In 2008 we implemented the EFQM Excellence Model as our management tool, and thus continuous improvement has become part of our corporate culture. This model is a guide for the European and non-European companies as to the development of the culture of excellence, access to good practices, stimulating innovation, and finally, improvement of results. Furthermore, the EFQM Model has proved to be a good tool of the CSR management and social reporting.
In 2011, as the first transportation and logistics company in Poland, we received the EFQM Recognition for Excellence - 5 Stars Award.
